Since the age of 15, Benjamin has been working in the tech, renewable energy, and digital industry founding several companies and became an active early-stage investor in 2007. He advised DAX companies in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Benjamin is a lecturer and speaker at several European universities and conferences, including the Economic Forum and Zeppelin University – where he also helped to create an investment fund for university startups. Benjamin started the GTEC initiative in 2014.
Managing Director, Education
An Ancient History (Greeks & Romans) M.A. by education, Christoph has been working in the digital industry since 1996 and joined his first startup team in 1999. After stints at Deutsche Telekom and Berlin-based digital agencies, he began running tech events in 2008 and accelerators in 2010. In 2012, Christoph founded the independent accelerator Berlin Startup Academy. He is a prolific international mentor, host, speaker, columnist and book author on all aspects of digital entrepreneurship. At GTEC, he is responsible for Entrepreneurship Education, lectures, and the workshops and accelerator programs.
Philipp von Roeder
As Director of Communications, Philipp is responsible for GTEC’s public image and its internal communication. Philipp is a PR-professional with 15 years of experience in journalism, public affairs and PR and is head of VONROEDER COMMUNICATIONS. He helps startups and corporates in the digital industry to shape and execute their communication strategy.
After selling his communication group and creative design agency, Anders has co-founded and invested in various tech-companies. Anders is an internationally renowned sparring-partner for Fortune2000 CxOs as well as for various startups. As an international keynote speaker, author, and occasional investor, the Norwegian-born also works with leading international business schools on topics of change, creativity, and leadership.
Johannes is investor, board-member and business angel in numerous young companies. He advises large corporations in the field of entrepreneurship and digitalisation and is an expert in renewable energy technologies and B2B businesses. He co-founded his first venture capital fund in 2009 and has set himself the goal to improve how we use our resources. He studied Mechanical Engineering and Management at the TU Berlin and is an alumnus of Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.
Robin focuses on leading and guiding organisations through their challenges of change. He works closely together with thought leaders and management thinkers to develop state-of-the-art practices and frameworks for action-orientated management. He designs individual coaching and training programs and helps organisations create goal-setting frameworks. He has co-founded a management think tank on the future of work and a software company. Furthermore, he’s a lecturer at various business schools and was honoured as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2015.
After many projects in management consultancy around the globe, co-founding several startups, and heading major M&A transactions, Darius found his passion in early-stage startups, starting from idea to the post- investment stage. Darius loves working with ventures of all industries on strategy, market and product validation, business and financial planning, operational road mapping, and fundraising.
Prof. Dr. Julian Kawohl
Prof. Dr. Julian Kawohl is a professor of Strategic Management at HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Kawohl’s main objective is to demonstrate the possibilities for established companies to transform themselves and their business models into modern, innovative, and agile organizations. In order to link his research activities closely with practice, Dr. Kawohl initiated the Corporate Startup Award and acts as Creative Director and Chairman of the Jury.
GTEC was founded in Berlin, Germany by Innogy, Henkel, Globumbus, Noerr, and the Sigmund Kiener Stiftung, and is headquartered in Berlin-Mitte. To expand our entrepreneurial reach, we’ve opened another campus in Frankfurt am Main.

In the past year, GTEC has also been home to more than 25 startups from over 10 countries who moved to Berlin to grow their company in the Lab or refine their ideas in the Startup Academy. GTEC has also worked with founders, managers and experts from leading international corporations and institutions to learn more about the the startup mentality: among them are Bosch, Postbank, Airbus, Energy Australia, Statoil, Mercedes-Benz, and the European Union.
